Many Lives And Property Lost As Pipeline Fire Razes Abule Egba In Lagos (Photos & Videos)
It is reported that many Lives and Property have been lost in the pipeline explosion caused by vandalization at Abule Egba in Lagos State.
Many people also were reported to have been injured in the inferno that began around 7pm Sunday evening as a result of the activities of vandals on the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC) pipelines.
The flame which that started around Ile-Epo bus stop had extended to Abule-Egba, Fagba and Ekoro Road.
Confirming the unfortunate incident, Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Mr Gbenga Omotoso said: “A pipeline fire has been reported at Abule-Egba. LASEMA and other security/emergency agencies has activated its machinery to fight the fire”.
Residents who could be victim, should the fire not contained in time, have resolved to keeping vigil and poised to flee should the fire stretch to their areas.
According to the Lagos State Fire Service Chief Public Affairs Officer, Jamiu Dosunmu three fire stations from Agege, Abesan and Alausa were battling with the fire.
In other to reduce the enormity of the incident, the NNPC General Manager, Mosimi Depot said the line flowing through the area has been have shut down.
It would be recalled that the same incident occurred in the same area on December 19, 2018 when properties worth millions of naira were destroyed.
